Incumbent representative for Christ Church West Dr Maria Agard will not be competing in this month’s general election on a United Progressive Party ticket.

This was revealed by leader of the UPP Lynette Eastmond during a conversation with the media at the Treasury Department in National Housing Corporation, Country Road, St Michael this morning.

Eastmond, at the Treasury to pay her deposit for the elections, said that she received a letter from Agard which stated that she would be seeking a medical consultation in the United States of America.

This development comes after Agard, who sat as Independent in the House Assembly after being dismissed by her party the Barbados Labour Party, joined up with the UPP in February. (SDB Media)
