Bajan chefs prep for showdown
The Barbados culinary team is in training as members prepare for battle next month. And their weapons of choice are Caribbean ingredients, flavours, texture and taste.
The team will be defending their numerous titles won last year, which include Caribbean Team Of The Year and Bartender Of The Year.
Seeking feedback before facing the judges in Miami at the annual Taste Of the Caribbean culinary competiton, the team staged a practice lunch yesterday at Divi Southwinds.
Members of the various tourism sectors and invited guests were in attendance as two teams faced off under the steady gaze of team manager Henderson Butcher and assistant Glenroy Alleyne, offering main, starter and dessert courses. (NS)
