The Barbados Labour Party has released a statement clarifying comments made by leader Mia Mottley about pension payments.

Below is the full release:

“In the interest of absolute clarity, the Barbados Labour Party will pay a non-contributory pension of $225 per week that will be paid every two weeks effective June 2018.

Party Leader Mia Mottley made this commitment at the Party’s Campaign Lift Off at Weymouth Police Ground last night.

The minimum contributory pension will also be increased in order to maintain the relativities between the contributory and non-contributory pensions.” (PR)
