Nesta still strong at 100

Nesta Loretta Harding is the island’s newest centenarian.

Earlier today she was visited by Governor General Dame Sandra Mason at Providence Terrace, Christ Church.

Harding, who sat resplendent in a floral dress complete with a bright yellow hat, stunned Dame Sandra as she read her own birthday cards.

As she sat quietly tapping her hands, she cracked jokes with Dame Sandra and advised the younger folk to always trust in the Lord to see them through to her age.

“I will have many more birthdays to come,” she declared as she sang happy birthday to herself along with those family, friends and well-wishers who had gathered for the auspicious occasion. (RA)
