Incumbent Cynthia Forde has been duly nominated as the Barbados Labour Party’s candidate for St Thomas. The veteran politician completed the process at Lester Vaughan Secondary school just after noon.

She had entered the school’s auditorium at 11:20 a.m. accompanied by a small entourage. Present were agent Gabriel R. Gooding-Edghill, proposer Sir Richard Cheltenham seconder Wendy Taylor and witnesses Shurland Hoyte and Alfred Drakes.

Forde said she would not go so far as to say she was guaranteed a victory but she felt she had done a lot in the parish. She identified unemployment, bad roads, delayed home repairs and the loss of agricultural land as some the challenges which remain. (NB)
