Former Cabinet minister and representative for St Michael West, Bishop Joseph Atherley is appealing to the women of St Michael Central to refrain from voting for Democratic Labour Party representative Steve Blackett.

“There will be more women voting in this election than men. There will be more women voting in St Michael Central than men. Send a clear message to Steve Blackett, because when you vilify one woman you vilify all.

“No man has the right to abuse a woman in that manner. . . ,” he said in apparent reference to comments made about Barbados  Labour Party leader Mia Mottley.

“The women of St Michael Central must have an answer to that and vote against him. Steve Blackett should not get a single vote from a single woman in this constituency come May 24,” he said. (RA)
