The Anglican Church in Barbados could have a new bishop by the end of the day.

Priests and laity turned out in their numbers once again this morning at Christ Church Parish Church.

Some told the media they were determined to end the process today after efforts to elect a new bishop failed on April 25.

Former Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave was among those seen along with retired priest Edward Gatherer.

The two candidates, Dean Dr Jeffrey Gibson and Reverend John Rogers, were among the last to arrive.

The day’s proceedings are expected to start with devotions and then continue with nominations. (GC)
