Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Mia Mottley told Barbadians to stay tuned to see if a meeting will be held on Monday, May 21 regarding the sale of Hilton Barbados Hotel.

Mottley, speaking at a political meeting at Oistins, Christ Church, on Sunday night, said that meeting slated for three days before the General Election and on a bank holiday must be stopped “at all costs”.

She questioned the rush to sell the property stating that if the sale was so good why couldn’t it wait until after elections.

While noting that the Government not be allowed to “pick the duck back bare before elections” Mottley told those gathered that if called upon on Monday, to turn out in their thousands at Needham’s Point to ensure that the meeting did not take place.

The BLP leader told those gathered the Democratic Labour Party cannot take up property or things that have value and sell them without getting a return from it. (LK)
