More than 40 athletes will be on stage for the third ABC Fitness Studios Inter-Gym Fitness Competition set for next Saturday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
The competition will feature first-time and seasoned athletes from nine gyms in eight categories.
Alex Ifill will not be defending his men’s physique title but competition in this category is still expected to be intense, with Shone Springer being the favourite to win.
Just last week, Springer placed second in his class at the annual Mr Bridgetown championship.
Roger Streete, a regular on the bodybuilding stage for the past few seasons, is also entered for the men’s physique contest.
Geanna Jules, fresh from standing alongside Shakira Doughlin and Vanessa Jones at the Mr Bridgetown championships, is expected to lead the way in the bikini fitness contest that promises to be one of the highlights of the programme, which starts at 5 p.m.
There will also be competition in girls’ bikini fitness, bikini wellness, masters bikini fitness, masters men’s physique, body fitness and, for the first time, mixed pairs.
Mixed pairs will feature a men’s physique competitor and a bikini fitness entrant.
Last year’s winner Keisha Squires is returning to defend her crown. (MK)
