A flood-warning is in effect for some sections of Barbados until 6 p.m.

According to the Barbados Meteorological Services, a mid to upper level trough has been producing some moderate to heavy showers over the northern half of the island over the past few hours.

Rainfall accumulations of nearly 1-2 inches (25-50 mm) have already been recorded across some northern districts and further accumulations of 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm) are likely as the day progresses.

Thus, a flood-warning has been issued for northern and central districts and will remain in effect until 6 p.m. today.

Residents in flood-prone areas should remain on the alert and take the necessary precautions.

A flood-warning means that flooding is already occurring or is imminent. (PR)
