Delay in St Michael North East

Counting of votes in the constituency of St Michael North East has been delayed.

Election clerk at the St Matthews Primary School, Adrian Walcott just informed reporters that Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC) staff are still awaiting the arrival of the 18th and final box.

Counting of votes can only commence when all boxes are accounted for at a polling station.

The 17 boxes from ballots cast today were delivered by Transport Board bus at 7.58 p.m. and the absent box is that which has special votes cast last week by members of the Royal Barbados Police Force, EBC staff and Foreign Service personnel. (BA)
