The Royal Barbados Police Force advises the public that due to the significant traffic congestion and parking problems experienced in the past on Polling Days, the Force has taken proactive measures by implementing the following temporary road traffic changes which will be enforced from 10 p.m. today Thursday.

No parking will be allowed along Belmont Road, Pine Road, Lower Collymore Rock or George Street.

Upper Roebuck Street, St Michael from its junction with Crumpton Street and Pinfold Street to its junction with the James A. Tudor Roundabout will be closed to traffic.

No vehicular traffic with the exception of Transport Board buses, police and other emergency vehicles will be permitted.

Residents of Country Road will be allowed access to their homes but vehicles travelling along Country Road will not be permitted onto Upper Roebuck Street.

Similarly, residents of Gills Road will also be allowed access to their homes. However, vehicles travelling along Gills Road will not be permitted onto Upper Roebuck Street.

No parking will be allowed along Upper Roebuck Street, Pinfold Street, Crumpton Street, Gills Road or Country Road.

Police officers will be deployed along the mentioned roads to enforce these changes. The travelling public is advised to comply with the directions of police officers in uniform.

The Royal Barbados Police Force encourages the travelling public seeking to attend celebrations at either of these areas, to consider the option of carpooling as opposed to single occupant vehicles.

The Royal Barbados Police Force anticipates your cooperation in this exercise. (PR)
