This year’s Crop Over Heritage Bus Tour is an event not to be missed.

Sponsored by the Barbados Tourism Product Authority (BTPA) in association with Carmeta’s, it will take on a new look under the theme: Rum and Sweet Food

Event producer Alison Sealy-Smith said “Last year we were talking about Sugar, Molasses and Rum . . . . This time we are talking food and our culinary heritage. Same exact kind of tour where you get on the buses and you hear about the history and you get a little acting and a little dance and the focus is on the food.

“You get to learn all about food and the food your grandmother cooked and you get to learn about what our chefs are doing. You’re going to hear recipes and all kinds of things,” Sealy-Smith said.

She was speaking to the media and sponsors at a media launch on Wednesday in the courtyard of the Daphne Joseph-Hackett Theatre.

The four-hour tour will depart from Queen’s Park on June 10 in a convoy of buses destined for the main stops at Tyrol Cot, the Mount Gay Visitor Centre, Fisherman’s Pub and Barclay’s Park on the East Coast.  (DB)
