The results are in and a student from St Cyprian’s Primary is the top performer for this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination, commonly known as the Common Entrance or 11 Plus exam.
Neil Charles came out on top with a score of 241.35 A and has been allocated a place at Queen’s College.
He was also the top performer in English, with a raw score of 98 and a converted score of 121.19.
The top female student was Zahzara Barrow of Christ Church Girls with a total score of 239.87 A. She has been allocated a place at Queen’s College.
This year 3 418 students sat the exam, from 68 public schools and 24 private schools, compared to last year’s 3 216. Each student was allocated a space in a school. Additionally 12 early-sitters took the exam this year.
