Wolverines snarled viciously to eliminate fellow Division 1 lightweight Goodride Ballers 36-29 when the Barbados Netball Association’s Senior knockouts continued on Wednesday night at the Netball Stadium.

Captain Tricia Briggs scored five of eight for Wolverines and her goal attack replacement Tamesha Forde contributed seven of nine, with the scoring being led by Carla Boyce, who had a game-high 24 goals from 32 attempts.

Ballers once again disappointed after promising so much in the pre-season, with Keryn Clarke battling with a low 19 from 36 shots. Colleen Griffith added eight of 11 and Kelly-Ann Knight scored two of three.

Tonight Spooners Hill Firebirds, who are in the league title play-off, will meet lower division Unity Stars.

The Firebirds should blaze brighter than the Stars to meet Wolverines next Monday. (KB)
