LIAT welcomes the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) aboard with a renewed partnership agreement as a gold sponsor of the 2018 Crop Over Festival.

The airline has supported the festival for many years and as its slogan suggests they will have Caribbean travel “on lock” for the Foundation, transporting artistes for the various events and offering prizes for the calypsonians and other competition winners.

With this new partnership, LIAT will again be providing travel into and out of Barbados for the performers like Trinidadians Junior Monarch, Marq Pierre, who will be performing at the Scotiabank Junior Calypso Monarch Finals in association with IGM Stage Lighting and the Alternative Quartet set to take the stage at First Citizens Pan Fusion in association with C&W Business.

In addition to these artistes, the winners of the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch competitions, as well as this year’s Outstanding Sugar Workers, Neville Cato and Ernesta Williams, can each look forward to tickets to any LIAT destination of choice included as part of their prize packages.

The LIAT branded misting station will also be cooling the crowds and patrons at the Republic Bank Grand Kadooment in association with MQI and Massy Pan Pun De Sand in association with Cave Shepherd and Ticketpal Caribbean.

During the signing of the partnership agreement, chief commercial officer at LIAT Audra Walker said that, “LIAT remains committed to ensuring that the culture of the Caribbean is preserved and shared. Our partnership with the NCF is one of the ways we show this commitment to Barbados.”

She also noted that Crop Over is one of the popular Caribbean summer festivals and LIAT was looking forward to bringing regional passengers here to experience and enjoy the festival.

Chief executive officer of the NCF, Cranston Browne signed on behalf of the Foundation and thanked LIAT for their commitment to culture and to the Festival at all levels over the years, expressing his hope for a continued partnership in the foreseeable future. (PR)
