A mother of three is pondering her next move after being evicted from one of the National Housing Corporation’s (NHC) housing units at Barbarees Gardens, St Michael, on Friday.

Shevon Griffith told THE NATION that workmen turned up at the house and told her daughter “to hurry up and get her things” because they were changing the locks.

“I left for work and my daughter was getting ready for work. It [the house] had burst pipes . . . that wanted fixing. The house practically running down with me in it. They say they come to fix the stuff, so the li’l girl let them in.

“She ain’t grab nothing and she need to get her medication. I here at Housing [NHC] and this is real shameful. If I ain’t get help years ago, how it is I goin get help now? This is Friday, where am I and my kids going to go?” she cried, while sitting on one of the benches at the NHC Country Road, St Michael offices.

She said that according to officials at the NHC she was in arrears of $18 000. (RA)
