The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) is putting plans in place to ensure that the BL&P/Hott 95.3 Foreday Morning jam is one of the safest events this Crop Over season.

Manager of administration at the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), Wayne Webster, said they were doing everything to ensure the event, which begins at 1 a.m., and ends at 7 a.m. is safe.

“Quite recently there were concerns expressed by some bandleaders about the safety of the event, and I wanted to emphasise that following a substantial meeting with our stakeholders that we have answered their calls. With the assistance of the BL&P, we are ensuring that this event is the safest event that takes place in Barbados,” he said.

“With respect to security on the road, the RBPF [Royal Barbados Police Force] and the BDF [Barbados Defence Force] provide security for these masquerade events as they do for all other national events during the festival. That, however, does not negate the need and requirement for the bands to have their own private security to ensure the safety of their patrons,” he added. (DB)
