Adonijah has not retired from calypso, just from competition.

The veteran calypsonian, who on Friday night signed off from the competition with a guest appearance at Friday night’s Pic-o-de-Crop semi-finals, stressed to THE NATION that his career in calypso and music was not over.

“I have put competition behind me but I am looking forward to continued recording, especially in other genres,” he said.

Adonijah started his calypso career in 1981, when he won Road March with Ethiopian Rock. (JS)
