Bajans looking to medal at CAC Games

Barbadian boxer Kimberley Gittens is in line to win a medal after advancing to the semi-finals at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Last night in the light welter category, Gittens defeated hometown favourite Paolo Calderon Muniz 4-1.

The points decision pits her against the Dominican Republic’s Marquis Sena on Monday.

Today, the women’s hockey team will be going against arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago for a bronze medal.

Barbados’ has already won two bronze medals.

The women’s squash team of Amanda Haywood, Meagan Best and Jada Smith-Padmore won the second medal on Wednesday.

The women’s equestrian team also won bronze in eventing. (SAT)
