Carlton making phased return
By weekend, Carlton supermarket should be fully operational, with all of its systems back online.
In the meantime, shoppers can expect delays, as the store reopened on Wednesday morning with only two of its 16 cash registers in operation.
On Tuesday morning, a virus invaded its computer network, shutting down internal operations from the warehouse to the point of sale. Emerald City in St Philip was not affected.
Managing director Andrew Bynoe told the NATION they had reopened, including the popular deli which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but with only two cash points in operation, there would be delays.
It will be a phased return since they had to use backup information because the problem “was much more than we thought”.
The company’s information technology department is still trying to trace the source of the virus. (SAT)
