Post Office staff mourn Ashby’s passing

The Barbados Postal Service mourns the loss of the Postmaster General, Margaret Ashby who passed away on Monday, August 13. Mrs. Ashby joined the Post Office Department in August, 1977 and rose to the rank of Postmaster General on July 1, 2016, becoming the first female to hold the post.

Her passion and commitment to see the Postal Service succeed was evident in her able representation at regional and international meetings. She consistently sought to voice the concerns of our region and to seek solutions for the viability of the Postal Service. Her loss will be felt throughout the regional and international community.

She has left a great legacy. A strong work ethic, visionary leadership and dedication to staff have been the hallmark of her enduring contribution. She will be greatly missed by colleagues and customers alike.
