Flood warning issued for Barbados
A flood warning is currently in effect for Barbados, having been issued by The Barbados Meteorological Services at 3 p.m.
A flood warning means that flooding is already occurring or is imminent.
A low to mid-level shear-line feature has been producing some pockets of moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across the island over the past few hours.
Rainfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm) have already been recorded in some parts of the island, and further accumulations of 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm) are likely tonight into tomorrow.
As a consequence, a flood warning has been issued for Barbados and will remain in effect until 10 a.m. tomorrow Thursday, August 23.
Residents in flood-prone areas should remain on the alert and take the necessary precautions. (PR)
