Buoyed by the remarkable two-run victory against the Tallawahs in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday and the satisfying 2-1 record so far, the Barbados Tridents are ready for battle against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their opening home match at Kensington Oval Saturday evening.

Captain Jason Holder admitted that the current record is a reflection of what they were aiming for prior to coming home and, despite the hiccups experienced in the previous game, his guys are ready for the task at hand.

“We expected a tight contest against the Tallawahs. We had three away games to start the competition and at the beginning of the tournament I just stressed on us to try to gather some momentum on the road coming back into Barbados for our home leg,” Holder told the media in a pre-match Press conference at Hilton Barbados on the eve of the contest.

“It was a tight game. Arguably, we didn’t play our best cricket but we came away with a good result so that says a lot about the squad and the depth of the squad and the belief in the squad. The mood in the camp is pretty good so hopefully we can take that momentum that we have now and run with it here in Barbados,” Holder said. (PH)
