Hurricanes blow away CCC
In a thrilling, low-scoring game marred by a brief rain interruption, Leeward Hurricanes snatched a ten-run victory over Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners on Monday.
Having to defend a small total of 131 in the Windies Super 50 Cup, the Leeward Hurricanes, inspired by some excellent leg-spin bowling from their Jamaican franchise player Damien Jacobs, dismissed the CCC Marooners for 121 to secure the win and a crucial bonus point.
Man Of The Match Jacobs took four for 31 in his ten overs and was ably assisted in the demolition by bigoff-spinner Rahkeem Cornwall, who had the fine figures of three for 39.
Left-handed middle-order batsman Nicholas Kirton batted sensibly in a knock of 33 but got out at a crucial stage. (LY)
