El Salvador will be a tough one

This will be a tough one. That was the view of Barbados Football Association’s technical director Ahmed Mohammed in an interview following the national team’s final training session on Monday ahead of their second outing in the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League Qualifiers against El Salvador on Saturday.

While Mohamed previously said he was worried about playing in the high altitude conditions at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador, he said that was no longer an issue.

“We don’t need to look at the altitude anymore. The most important thing is to know who El Salvador is. El Salvador is one of the best teams in Concacaf, and for everybody who is going to play there it is very difficult; it is not only us,” Mohammed said.

“We are excited to play against such an opponent that we wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to play unless we’re in the final six of the qualification stage. We will give of our best and see what we can get from there. The fact is it would be a really tough one,” he noted. (RA)
