The Ministry of Health and Wellness will continue its fogging programme in three parishes next week, in its efforts to rid the island of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

On Monday, October 15, the fogging team will target Sunset Crest, Hibiscus Avenue, Cherry Avenue, Violet Row, Cemetery Lane, Flamboyant Avenue, Cordia Avenue, Mayhoe Avenue and environs in St James.

The team from the Vector Control Unit will go to St Michael on Tuesday, October 16, and spray Villa Road, Burkes Land, Eversley Road, Brittons New Road, Reece Land, Laynes Road, Hillbury Road, Knights Road and surrounding areas.

On Wednesday, October 17, the team will visit a number of districts in St Philip, including Content Cot, Coles Terrace, Blue Dolphin Drive, Coles Crescent, Coles Close, Coles Road, Merricks and Tenantry Road.

St Michael will again be the focus of the team on Thursday, October 18, and Friday, October 19. On Thursday, the following districts will be fogged: Hothersal Turning, Friendship, Friendly Hall, Brownes Gap, Skeetes Road with Avenues, Hothersal Terrace and environs.  On Friday, it will be the turn of the districts of Lodge Road, Reservoir Road, Pipers, Husbands New Development, Airlie Tenantry Road and environs.

Fogging will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.  Those with respiratory problems are advised to protect themselves from inhaling the fog, and motorists should exercise caution when travelling behind the fogging vehicle. (BGIS)
