Prime Minister Mia Mottley on Friday revealed the country’s tourism sector is about to become a level playing field when it comes to concessions granted for food and beverage importation.

Mottley revealed she has tasked Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds to eradicate the bureaucratic unevenness faced by local hotels seeking clearance for the granting of concessions under the Tourism Development Act (Amended).

She made the announcement during a site tour of the Sandals Beaches property just outside Speightstown, St Peter, where officials of the international resort chain gave an update on the proposed US$400 million project at the former Almond Resorts site. (BA)
