Pride had belief

It was a case of believing and having the confidence to achieve victory, regardless of the situation for Barbados Pride cricketers.

Despite setting Jamaica Scorpions a small target of 107 runs for victory, head coach Emmerson Trotman said they decided they weren’t going to surrender but back themselves and make the task extremely difficult for their opponents.

Hence, he wasn’t entirely surprised with the eventual 41-run victory in the low-scoring second-round match in the Regional Four-Day Cricket Championship at the 3Ws Oval on Saturday, with a day to spare.

“We had a plan to defend 107 runs and the guys stuck to the game plan and executed it very well. That was the key to our success,” Trotman told NATIONSPORT in a post-match interview. (EZS)
