Team work makes the dream work. So says Minister of Sports John King, who wants to see a greater collaborative effort between Barbados’ stakeholders to advance local sports.

King made the call while delivering remarks at the Barbados Olympic Association’s (BOA) Awards Ceremony at Hilton Barbados.

“We need to take a step back, put our heads together and determine exactly what we wish to achieve, clinically strategise on the path to achieving the “golds”, pardon the pun, and redirect our energies and resources towards achieving this objective,” said King in his address.

“I am aware that the BOA has been expending efforts in this regard and I commend [president Sandra] Osborne and her team at the BOA for so doing. However, there is a need for a national effort that goes beyond the BOA to include the National Sports Council, Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sport, the ministries responsible for education and for health and the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, as well as our national sports organisations,” he added.
