‘Long wait’ will continue
Commuters will continue to suffer long waits for Transport Board buses. About 40 buses are currently off the road undergoing inspection and 30 more are expected to be removed next month.
Earlier this month, a message made the rounds on social media that the Board was down to 47 buses because all of those “beginning with registration number 2 . . . are off the road. All failed inspection”.
Chairman Gregory Nicholls told THE NATION he was not aware that a whole set had failed inspection.
“What we have had to do in the month of December, we will have to do again next month, because of when the buses were bought and put on the road; the annual inspection for the buses occurs at a particular period of time every year,” Nicholls said. (SAT)
