It’s Maloney all the way

HEAVY FOG was not enough to prevent Barbadian kart driver Zane Maloney from taking the World Karting Association’s (WKA) Manufacturers Cup Series title at the Daytona International Speedway last weekend.

Maloney, now a senior rookie and at the wheel of a KSNA/Kart Republic kart, started in pole position and earned the win in fine fashion, leading all 22 laps of the final.

A close second was Brandon Jarsocrak, in a similar machine.
WKA junior champion Josh Green, driving a MDR/Kosmic kart, jumped up to third, after trailing the top two throughout the final. Jake Venberg lost ground to end up with a solid fourth, ahead of Alexander Kardashian in an AMK/Top Kart.

Jarsocrak, a winner on Saturday, came up short on Sunday, while Venberg had set the fastest time in qualifying, leading most of the pre-final until Jarsocrak and Maloney overtook him to the chequered flag. (TT)
