PSV Operators to go back on the job tomorrow
Public Service Operators (PSV) are expected to be back on the road tomorrow.
Further strike action was averted after an entire day of talks among members of the newly formed Public Service Vehicles Workers Association (PSVWA) at the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) headquarters, Dalkeith, St Michael.
This morning, operators staged protest action for the second time in five days for reasons including uniforms, fuel tax, absence of duty free concessions on vehicles and the nature of violations they were charged with by police.
Several frustrated drivers pull the brakes on their trade and parked their vehicles at Eagle Hall, St Michael.
It prompted the Transport Authority to issue a statement in which chairman Ian Estwick said the authority was surprised by today’s industrial action.
The PSVWA is scheduled to meet with the Transport Authority tomorrow at 10 a.m. (TG)
