The Alexandra Maestoso Concert 2019 will feature the internationally acclaimed

Royal Barbados Police Force Band and Pic O De Crop Monarch Mr Blood.

The annual event, hosted by the Alexandra School and the Alexandra School Alumni Association, takes place on March 9 at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed. It is one of the major highlights of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the St Peter institution, which was founded on September 24.

The 130-year-old Royal Barbados Police Force Band has toured extensively, visiting England, Scotland, Virgin Islands, Suriname, St Kitts, Grenada, Canada and Germany, among other places. The members are known for playing a wide variety of Caribbean music, as well as marches and popular songs which patrons will be treated to during the concert.

Also sharing the stage will be veteran calypsonian Blood, the reigning Pic O De Crop king and former Party Monarch.

The headliners will be joined by the school’s choir and other talented performers.

The school kicked off its year-long celebrations last month with a launch. (PR)
