The Bajan pastime of “slamming a dom” has been played on the outskirts of Parliament for decades.

But yesterday it was played for the first time within the gates of the third oldest Parliament in the British Commonwealth, and Prime Minister Mia Mottley couldn’t help but join in on the fun.

As scores of Barbadians mingled in the yard of the historic venue, Mottley took her seat at the domino table to play a six with a trio of elderly regulars.

The Prime Minister didn’t finish the six, however, as moments later she launched her administration’s Vision 2020 programme.

Barbados We Gathering 2020

was held to drive interest in the Vision 2020 project, and attracted a number of Barbadians from all walks of life.

Here, Mottley checking her hand before playing a “shot” yesterday.
