Rookie fast bowler Oshane Thomas grabbed a five-wicket haul and opener Chris Gayle smashed a belligerent half-century to lead West Indies to a crushing seven-wicket victory over England and a share of the five-match One-Day International series today.
Thomas undermined England with a telling burst to collect five for 21 in 5.1 overs as the tourists were sent crashing for 113 in 28.1 overs after they were sent in at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.
Gayle took over proceedings by bludgeoning 77 off 27 balls that included nine sixes and five fours and West Indies raced to the target in just 12.1 overs.
West Indies’ victory left the series tied 2-2. The third match at the Grenada National Stadium was abandoned because of rain. (HG)
