THREE MEN WILL APPEAR in court on murder charges tomorrow.

Lamar Alex Hewitt of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St Michael, has been charged in the killing of Corey Parris on January 23.

Jaleel Kadeem Callender and Jalen Trimal Jones-Cox will also appear in District A Magistrates Court, The City, charged with the death of Daryll Harris on January 15.

Callender is 25 years old and lives at Block 2D Barbarees Gardens, Barbarees Hill, while 18-year-old Jones-Cox is from Kings Gap, Eagle Hall, in the same parish.

Hewitt, 27, has also been charged with supplying a firearm to Rio Benn between February 1 and 18.

Thirty-three-year-old Shamar Recardo James of Murphy’s Pasture, Chapman Lane, St Michael, has been charged with supplying a firearm to Callender between January 01 and February 18.

The firearm has been recovered by police.

Harris, the father of 13, was at his Barbarees Gardens home when a gunman allegedly walked up to him and shot him nine times. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) by private vehicle, where he passed away.

Parris also succumbed to gunshot injuries at the QEH.

His murder sent shockwaves across the country as he was sitting in traffic around twilight at Baxter’s Road when eyewitnesses said a lone gunman walked up to the vehicle and shot him at least five times.

He was also taken to hospital by private vehicle by some of the men who were liming nearby.

There have been 14 murders for the year, eight by the gun. (SAT)
