Police identify man killed in accident

Nineteen-year-old Delano Seale of Eagle Hall, St Michael was killed in an accident early this morning at the intersection of Tweedside Road, Government Hill and Welches Road St Michael.

Seale was the front seat passenger of a car driven by Romario Roach, 20, of Greenidges, St Lucy, who was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance complaining of pain to his feet, chest, and head and about his upper body.

Police responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a car and a wrecker truck around 1:10 this morning.

The wrecker truck was travelling due east from Tweedside Road, towards Government Hill whilst the motorcar was travelling due north from Nita Barrow roundabout towards Welches Road, when they became involved in a collision.

The motor car was extensively damaged. The driver of the wrecker truck Tennyson Maynard, 59, of Frere Pilgrim, Christ Church, had no immediate injuries. The truck sustained moderate frontal damage.

Two fire tenders, and eight personnel responded from the fire service and used the Jaws of Life to extricate the body of the deceased. Police investigations are continuing. (PR)
