Inspired Adventure sneaks up on ’em
Inspired Adventure ran out an easy three-quarter length winner of Saturday’s featured Louis Corbin Memorial Handicap over 1 800 metres for four-year-olds and older before a small crowd at the Garrison Savannah.
The four-year-old chestnut colt, a son of Tapizar out of Ocean Colour, was ridden across the line by jockey Rickey Walcott, who recorded a brace on the Honouring Former Barbados Turf Club Employees Raceday.
Owned by H&M and trained by Kenny John, Inspired Adventure raced towards the back half of the seven runners with Brigadier Wood and Stealin’ eyeballing each other for the lead. Tamarama, Jackmannaygay and Inspired Adventure moved as team no more than five to six lengths off the duelling leaders.
Brigadier Wood assumed full control of the race leaving the paddock bend. No sooner had he taken command, Stealin’ began to look vulnerable, leaving Tamarama and Jackmannaygap trying to keep momentum with Brigadier Wood. (LY)
