A budget that was overly long, lacked details and was not satisfying.
That’s Leader of the Opposition Bishop Joseph Atherley’s impression of Prime Minister Mia Mottley’s five-and-a-half-hour Budget today.
Atherley paused from meeting with his team to give a brief overview on the contents of the lengthy delivery.
“I thought it was overly long and I was not satisfied with it and I don’t think Barbadians are satisfied with it either. Some clarity needs to be given to a lot of the issues,” he told THE NATION tonight from the Office of the Opposition at Parliament Building.
Atherley is due to reply to the Budget tomorrow and met with his senators and others with experience in certain sectors in order to respond to the measures outlined by Mottley.
He said that Mottley should have been focused on giving details so that Barbadians would have understood what she said in the presentation. (AC)
