Some of the guests say they will not be washing the hand they shook with heir to the British throne Prince Charles, after meeting him during his whirlwind visit to Barbados last week.

Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla Duchess of Cornwall swept through the island on a one-day visit that was a packed agenda. The next day they were off to St Vincent and the Grenadines as part of the 12-day Caribbean tour before returning to Barbados for a day or two of relaxation, during which they were sneakily captured taking a dip in the inviting waters off the west coast.

Last Sunday it was a morning of worship at the Cathedral of St Michael and All Angels after which they were whisked off to the airport to board a plane for Cuba.

On the first day of their visit here, the red carpet was also rolled out at Government House for a reception in the evening, hosted by Governor General Dame Sandra Mason and specially invited guests who were invited for cocktails and some hobnobbing with the royal visitors. (GC)
