INTERIM Cricket West Indies (CWI) chairman of selectors Robert Haynes is keeping an eye on outstanding performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the World Cup in mind.
At a press conference at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on Thursday, Haynes made it clear that each and every player who is available will be considered for selection.
“As chairman of selectors, along with the coach and captain, we have been looking at these players because I think it is important that we have so many international cricketers around the world, and they are doing very well that we have to look at them, we have to give them the opportunity to represent the West Indies.
“At the end of the day, it will come down to what we think is the best possible team to represent the West Indies in any format of the game to win. We have to get back into the habit of winning cricket matches, we are at the bottom of the ladder, we need to step up and to do that it means the best players that are available for us, we will be looking at them for selection,” Haynes said
