Warrens Sports Club are hopping mad with the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA). They are crying foul over a decision by the sport’s governing body to penalise the club for their withdrawal from the 2019 Premier League.
The penalty means that the Warrens Sports Club will forfeit any prize money for which they might be eligible for the 2019 season.
Both president Peter Alleyne and executive member Cherilyn Christie told the Weekend Nation, the club had been getting a raw deal for many years from the BABA.
Alleyne has ruled out legal redress at this stage but said there was the possibility that Pan American Insurance Warrens may not field a team in any of the league’s three divisions.
“We are not taking legal advice because legal advice is a cost. There is a possibility that we may not field a team in any of the divisions. For years, we have gotten a raw deal. This is the final straw,” he said.
