Traffic slowed to a crawl through The City as a burst main caused the closure of its main street.
Police were redirecting traffic at the junction of Lower Broad Street and Prince William Street as Barbados Water Authority personnel were excavating a large section of upper Broad Street.
A supervisor, who requested anonymity, said a six-inch main had burst and they had to remove four feet of material to access it.
The official promised the work would be done today and the road would then be traversable although that section would remain unpaved until the Ministry of Transport and Works arrived. (CA)
