Patricia Nehaul’s outstanding contribution to the development of Barbados’ tourism led to the late stalwart of the industry being described as the “Grande Dame” of tourism at her funeral service this morning.
Nehaul died last week at age 86.
During the service at James Street Methodist Church in The City, eulogist Carol Cadogan-Fox shared the story of Nehaul’s 42-year sojourn in an industry she helped to pioneer and guide to become the pillar of Barbados’ economy.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Motttley, Sir Wes Hall – under whose tenure as Minister of Tourism Nehaul served – as well as past and present industry representatives, attended the funeral service. (GC)
