Work continues on south coast outfall
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) will be undertaking geophysical work at Worthing Beach, Christ Church, to help determine the conditions for laying the permanent outfall.
A a drilling rig will be on-site from Friday and for the next few weeks, testing the rock properties in the Sandy Beach area.
Drilling will initially take place in the Graeme Hall Swamp area, and progress towards Sandy Beach.
Some holes will also be drilled in the shallow lagoon in front of Sandy Beach and will involve the assembling of a work platform in the vicinity of the sluice gate.
The work is being completed for the BWA by SB Testing and Engineering, under the direction of Adams Consulting International (ACI) and Baird & Associates.
The BWA advises the public to exercise caution and stay a safe distance away from these activities.
