Hypasounds hoping for good Crop Over
Hypasounds hasn’t decided if he is going to enter Crop Over competitions this year. His focus is on releasing good music and his first ever concert, Soca For Her, next month at Sugarland Gardens, St Peter.
He told Weekend Buzz that the event, which is four years in the making, is part of his rebranding – which includes a new look as an artiste.
“This is my first concert and the name is a series of things. I started with the songs which I do for females, then it went to tours and now it’s the concert. Some of my friends from Crop Over willbe performing.
From him, patrons can also expect songs that he hasn’t performed in a while. Some of them have been rearranged and will have “a 2019 feel”.
“I am just excited and can’t wait to perform for the fans. To know that they can come out for a night and just hear Hypasounds and that I can have my entire set and that I could work with the songs, mess with the fans a bit and interact with them, I can’t wait to do that,” he said.
As for his new look, he said that as an entertainer “you have to keep reinventing yourself”.
“I always knew that this year there would have been a difference in the music so I said, this was the year to cut my hair, do some photoshoots, put on the concert . . . and it is all falling into place. Once the fans are loving it, that’s all that matters to me.
“I started off releasing music because I love producing music; I love to entertain. It is only this month when I sat down and realised there were 29 songs and 22 of them were major songs. When I started, it was something that I loved doing. I knew that the brand Hypasounds would eventually evolve into something, but I didn’t know what then.”
The artiste said he was working on building a particular sound “so you would know it was Hypasounds, then a catalogue and from there anything would have happened,” he told Buzz.
Every week this month, Hypasounds will be releasing new songs. So far, he has dropped Tight Situation and on Wednesday it was Fair Sa (Feh Sa) which means “do it”. Apart from his Instagram page, he launched his website, hypasoundsmuzik.com.
“There might be four releases this year. I’m trying to get the songs out as early as possible. I don’t want people to come to the concert and hear the songs for the second time. There are more releases, but we are working on these because we are confident with these four we’re going to drop every week in May and really put forward Hypasounds to be trending in Crop Over,” he said with a smile.
