Swann, McNulty still in the mix
England’s Rob Swann and co-driver Steve McNulty and their technical crew will have another sleepless night.
After a roller coaster 24 hours repairing the damaged engine from last Sunday’s Flow King of the Hill and the non-arrival of the new engine from WRC Spares in the United Kingdom yesterday, the pair are hoping that the repaired engine will survive the rigours of the three opening stages from Golden Grove, St Philip to Bushy Park.
Stage times were not ready at press time, but the word out of the Swann/McNulty camp was that they are satisfied with the work done by their works crew and looking forward for today’s re-start to settle ten stages.
They are the second seeded after finishing second in last week’s Flow King of the Hill. Defending champions, the Jamaican pair of Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell Jr. in the Rubis/Sandals Barbados/KIG Ford Focus WRC06 are the top seeded pair in the event. (TT)
