Soldier found guilty
Lieutenant David Harewood has been found guilty.
Moments ago, the six-member CARICOM military panel found him guilty of engaging in conduct that prejudiced the good order and military discipline by carrying out unauthorised information-gathering operations at various locations between January 1, 2018 and September 30, 2018.
A similar decision was reached on the charge of neglect to the prejudice of good order and military discipline by not informing his superiors about a threat to Ordinary Seaman Marlon Scott.
Harewood, who has been in the Barbados Defence Force for 18 years, is attached to the Barbados Coast Guard.
He was originally on four charges, but two relating to communicating with the enemy were dropped.
The court martial is taking place at the BDF’s St Ann’s Fort, Garrison, St Michael, headquarters.
He is awaiting sentencing. (AC)
