ATTORNEY Vonda Pile will remain on remand at HMP Dodds – at least for the time being.

This afternoon, attorneys working on her behalf failed in an attempt to have her released on bail pending sentencing for theft, when the application was turned down by Justice Pamela Beckles.

Pile is to return to the No. 5 Supreme Court on July 16 to hear the contents of a pre-sentencing report.

The attorney had been found guilty of stealing Bajan/New Yorker Anstey King’s US$96 008, between April 29, 2009 and October 26, the following year, and had been remanded to HMP Dodds.

The jury, however, found her not guilty of engaging in money laundering in that she disposed of US$96 008, between April 29, 2009 and October 26, 2010, being the proceeds of crime. (HLE)
